Terms of Service
In force · v2.1Effective 2026-06-01
In plain language
You may use Spondea if you are a real person over 18 whose name matches the identity you verify. Builders own their products; contributors own their Book. Using Spondea as a contributor costs you nothing at any point. We can suspend an account only for a stated reason, in writing, with the record it rests on attached — and you can put that decision to a different person.
No contributor pays anything to join, to learn a Listing, to sit the Viva, to verify who they are, or to be paid. Commission is flat and single-level: one Vouch Rate, applied once, to one settled Client payment. Nothing anyone earns depends on how many other people are on Spondea, and no payment of any kind is made for bringing another contributor onto the platform.
This paragraph is one stored sentence rendered on every page of this set. If it ever reads differently in two places, that is a defect — write to us and we will fix the document, not the wording.
10 clauses, none of them long.
- 01
Who may use Spondea
Real, named people over 18, and businesses represented by one. One account per verified identity. If a second account is found on the same identity it is closed and any balance on it is paid to the first.
- 02
What Spondea provides
A catalogue of Listings, study material that is free to everyone, the Viva, identity verification, an append-only Ledger you can read, and payment in Ugandan shillings to a mobile money number in your own name.
- 03
What a contributor pays
Nothing. There is no fee to open an account, no fee to study a Listing, no fee to sit the Viva, no fee to verify your identity, and no fee deducted from a payout. If an amount is ever taken out of a contributor balance for any reason, it appears on the Ledger as its own row with its own reason — it is never netted quietly off a figure you were shown.
- 04
What a Builder pays
A Builder is a customer of Spondea, not a participant in a chain. A Builder pays Spondea to list a product and sets the Vouch Rate that product carries. No Builder payment is ever routed to another Builder, and no contributor is ever paid out of what a Builder paid to join.
- 05
What Spondea is not
This is not employment. Contributors are independent and choose their own hours, Listings and Clients. Nothing here is a guarantee of income. Every figure published on this site is either a worked example, labelled as one, or a row on the Ledger.
- 06
Decisions a person makes
Two decisions are never made by software alone. Trainer promotion requires a named person to approve it. Payout release requires a named person to approve it. In both cases an agent may prepare and label a recommendation, but it stays a recommendation until a person approves it, and the approval is stamped on the Ledger with the approver and the time.
- 07
Suspension and appeal
We may hold an account while a case is open. Any hold states its reason and the record it rests on. A decision made by a person can be put to a different person within 30 days, and the outcome of that appeal is written to the Ledger.
- 08
Your Book is yours
The record of what you have certified in, won and serviced can be exported at any time, including after you leave, and stays verifiable at a public link.
- 09
Changing these terms
Every change is published with a new version, a new effective date, and a line in the change log below saying what moved. A change takes effect from its date forward; it does not reach back into a Stream that was already running.

Reaching a person about this
Write to legal@spondea.com, or call +256 000 000 000. A written notice about your own account is answered by a person, not by an automatic reply.
What changed, and when it took effect.
The version and effective date at the top of this page are read from the newest entry below, so a change cannot be published without moving the date. A change applies from its date forward: a Stream already running keeps the Vouch Rate its Account was won at.
- v2.1 · 2026-06-01Separated what a contributor pays from what a Builder pays, so neither can be read into the other.
- v2.0 · 2026-04-14Added the appeal window and the human-approval clause.
- v1.0 · 2026-02-02First published terms.
